I've read quite a bit this month but most of the books are more challenging than my normal reading. Thus, I've not read quite as many titles. I have a feel October will be like that as well. This is what I'm going to attempt in October, but I know I will not complete all of these.
These are not all of my books. The open book is my husbands as he is learning C#. No idea what that is, but he calls it "light reading!" He also has a couple of other art and computer books in that stack, so I'm not completely insane!
My priority books:
The Importance of Being Earnest - I have seen two movie adaptations of this play and I loved them both. It's time I read the play!
How to Read and Why - I've read How to Read a Book and I've heard How to Read and Why is also very good.
The History of the Ancient World: From the Earliest Accounts to the Fall of Rome - I don't plan on reading this entire book, but I do want to start it. Even though I progressed through the normal history classes in elementary and high school, plus another year or so in college, I feel ignorant. I want to match up Biblical history with the rest of the world, to gain an idea of what else is going on during the time of Abraham, David, and Christ. I want to put the Bible in context!

Lauren, I feel very ignorant when it comes to placing Biblical events alongside non Biblical events. I have no idea what's going on in the rest of the world while the Bible events occur! :)
I too love The Importance of Being Earnest. Good for you for reading the history book--even though you know you probably won't be able to finish it. My tendency is to shy away from books that I know I won't be able to finish, even if the small bit I can read would be beneficial.
You will be doing some heavy thinking. Good for you! I admire you for wanting to connect world history with Biblical history.

Sounds like an interesting list, although the history book sounds a bit . . . daunting to me, but still sounds good (although I don't think that I would have the courage to read it, ha!).
BTW, your husband is Learning C+? Yikes! I've heard of that computer progam, and I would hardly call that "light" reading.

Bekah, I also don't like starting books that I know I won't finish, but I feel like history books are different. I have no intention of reading all of the history book, only the sections on the earliest time periods. Then I'll have to take the book back to the library, unfortunately. I wish I had more of a budget for buying books!

Lady Rose, I wouldn't consider it light reading either! Hubby seems to enjoy it, though. I open up to a random page and it sounds like "blah, blah, blah" even though it's in plain English. Too technical for me!
