It's a blog hop party!

Blog Hop Party with Give-Aways

It's a party!! Quilting Gallery is hosting another fun blog hop and giveaway. I've not been able to quilt since we moved (no iron or ironing board yet) but I still wanted to participate in the giveaway.

I'm giving away two Christmas fabrics. I'm unsure of the exact yardage, but I know they are at least half a yard each.

The two fabrics together

Close up 2

To enter the drawing, leave a comment below. That's it! And I am happy to ship internationally! The drawing is open until midnight on September 3 and I will draw a winner on September 4. Make sure that I have a way to contact you if you win.

If you feel like being extra kind and have a great pizza sauce recipe that you're willing to share, I'm currently on the hunt for the perfect pizza.

Visit Quilting Gallery on Sunday to see the entire list of blog participants. Happy quilting!

I unfortunately dont have a good pizza sauce recipe but if I was looking for one, I would probably try pintrest.I have found some wonderful recipes on there :)

Second Chance Tan said...

Mmmmm it's very simple, and very scrummy.

Chop an onion, crush a clove or two of garlic and fry them for 5 mins.

Tip a tin of chopped tomatoes into the onions and garlic. Leave to bubble away for 20 minutes or until thickened.

Spread on pizza dough and bung any veg you have in the fridge on top.

Delicious

I've been working on Pizzas recently to try and create the perfect pizza. I'm still not sure it's perfect, but it sure is darn good everytime I make it. For the pizza sauce I make I usually use one can of tomato sauce and 1 can of tomato paste. I then add as much water as I think it needs to get to the right consistency. I add italian seasoning, garlic powder, dried oregano, dried basil, salt and pepper. I don't have exact measurements yet because I add them to taste. I just keep taste testing until it tastes good. I just heat that a little on the stove and then add it on top of my pizza dough. I'll probably try to take pictures next time I make my pizzas as I have a great recipe for the dough as well.

Ingredients

1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste

In a small bowl, combine tomato paste, water, Parmesan cheese, garlic, honey, anchovy paste, onion powder, oregano, marjoram, basil, ground black pepper, cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes and salt; mix together, breaking up any clumps of cheese.
Sauce should sit for 30 minutes to blend flavors; spread over pizza dough and prepare pizza as desired.

This is the one I use from allrecipes.com

Judy B said...

I don't make pizza sauce, sorry. I am a Papa Murphy take and bake it gal!

Leo said...

well pizza sauce is like the normal pasta sauce, just without the meat (though you could probably also use that)

* 1 chopped onion
* 1 or 2 spoons of flour
* 2 sliced carrots
* 6-8 fresh peeled tomatoes (or one tin with equivalet amount of peeled tomatoes) - cut into pieces
* salt, pepper, oregano, rosmary, thyme, laurel leaf, garlic, honey

fry the onions, add the carrots, add the flour, stir thoroughly add the tomatoes; you will most likely need abit of water too, make sure everything is submerged

add the spices to your liking

let it happily bubble on low heat for 45 minutes at least, a little less if you use tinned tomatoes

taste a last time, make sure you make it a bit spicier than usual (esp. the salt) as the dough is pretty mucht tasteless.

spread it on the dough and add the topping (tuna+onion, spinach+gorgonzola, ham+pine apple etc etc...)

Bon appetit!

Thanks for the give-a-way! I love making pizza! Here is my favourite sauce:
Pour 2-28 oz cans of whole peeled tomatoes into a strainer that has been fitted over a microwave proof bowl. Using your hands, crush the tomatoes. Press all juices into bowl. Set crushed tomatoes aside. Place bowl with tomato juice in microwave and cook on high until thickened to consistency of ketchup, about 20 to 25 minutes. Add crushed tomatoes to sauce. Add your favourite Italian spice blend, to taste. Cool to room temperature. Keeps for about a week, refrigerated.

Enjoy!

UUUUUMMM the last time I made pizza I made it with a small jar of prepared PESTO with a tad extra garlic and I mixed the typical Italian Seasonings and a dash of cayenne into the dough itself. Topped that with leftover baked blns Chicken Breast, a little pineapple, along with some Kraft's Mozz Cheese and blended Pizza chesse.

I love to exiperament with my pizzas. Thank You for the chance to win those delightful fabrics. I can think of the prefect mini quilt to make them with.

My husband's family is Italian, and I learned many years ago, that it is not just the tomatoes, spices, but you must have, beef, chicken, and pork meats simmering in it all day. And most important is the Ox Tail. You don't have to eat it if you don't wish, but it makes for the best flavor in your sauce. Oh, and an Italian does not call it sauce...they call it "Gravy".

My Husband and I love pizza! We live in New Mexico, so if you like spicy here is a recipe for you! Take any pizza crust and prepare as directed. for the sauce, use re-fired black beans, (sounds strange but taste great!) for the toppings, cheese, chicken, green chili and tomatoes. My new favorite!

Jeanne Gwin said...

The best pizza sauce recipe I have is to use roasted red peppers, tomato sauce, a scant 1/4 tsp yellow mustard and a bit of brown sugar. Add red pepper flakes, smoked paprika and mushroom slices. Rub small amount of olive oil on crust before dressing. I always sprinkle my crust with shredded cheese first as it holds the sauce better. We then load the top with thin slice tomatoes, green, red and yellow bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, jalapenos, corn, olives, green chiles and any other veggie you like or meat to your taste. Hope you enjoy.

Here is my favorite pizza sauce to make:

In a medium saucepan cook 3/4 cup chopped onion and 2 cloves garlic, minced, in 2 T hot butter or margarine until onion is tender. Stir in two 14 1/2 ounce cans whole Italian-style tomatoes, undrained and cut up; half of a 6-ounce can (1/3 cup) tomato paste, 1/2 tsp sugar, 1/4 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp pepper. Bring to boil; reduce heat, Simmer, uncovered, 20 minutes. Stir in 1/4 cup fresh basil or 1 tablespoon dried basil, crushed. Cook 5 minutes more. Makes about 3 1/3 cups sauce.
Thank you for participating in the Blog Hop and giving us all a chance to win Christmas fabric. Just in time for a Christmas lap quilt for a special loved one.

Hi, I just use a very simple one... (Pizza sauce), Tomato puree, a dazzle of herbs (dried ones can be soaked in a cup of boiling water for 10-15 minutes, after which drain the water leaving the 'leafs' in the bottom... stir these into the puree... then simple as that a squidge of garlic puree or frozen garlic cubes work well (you'll only need one cube as they are very potent), that as they say is that... oh if you want a sour twang, a splash of balsamic vinegar goes brilliantly well into it x

This is a Hungarian version:
1 onion, finely chopped
3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 green capsicum finely, chopped
2 tomatoes, finely chopped
3 teaspoons of parsley
1 teaspoon of paprika
1/2 teaspoon of ground caraway seeds
3 tablespoons of olive oil
6 tablespoons of tomato concentrate or paste
2 cubes of stock concentrate (chicken or meat)
Add to heavy based pot
stir and simmer
add concentrates
add water to create a thick sauce consistency
cook gently until all ingredients are soft.
